Classification of organic compounds

The compounds in solid, liquid or gaseous states having carbon in their molecule are known as organic compounds.

  • Inorganic compounds, one or more atoms of carbon are covalently linked to atoms of other elements most commonly H, O, or N.
  • carbon is the main element in organic compounds.
  • Organic compounds that contain only hydrogen and carbon are called hydrocarbons.

Classification of organic compounds:

  1. Acyclic (open chain)
  2. Cyclic(closed chain)
  3. Homocyclic compounds
  • Alicyclic compounds
  • Aromatic compounds
  • Benzenoid compound
  • Non-Benzenoid compound

Heterocyclic Compounds

These compounds are also known as aliphatic compounds as they have branched or straight chains.

  1. The following time I learn a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as a lot as this one. I imply, I do know it was my choice to read, however I actually thought youd have one thing interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you would repair in case you werent too busy searching for attention.
