Definition of Dosage Form

Drug: A drug is “a chemical substance used in the treatment, cure, prevention, or diagnosis of disease or used to otherwise enhance physical or mental well-being.”
Dose: Amount of active medicament required to produce desired therapeutic or pharmacological effect.


Dosage form


Dosage form can define as transformation/presentation/conversion of pure chemical substance/active pharmaceutical ingredient/active medicament in predetermined / prefabricated / convenient form of administration.
Classification: Dosage forms are classified into three types based on appearance. Solid dosage forms, Semisolid dosage forms, and Liquid dosage forms.
