When the acid is produce more than it normal level in blood or an excessive loss of bicarbonate from blood is known an Acidosis. Acidosis may be metabolic Acidosis and Respiratory Acidosis.
- Metabolic Acidosis: ( loss of bicarbonate from the blood) Metabolic acidosis is a pH imbalance in which the body has accumulated to much acid and doesn’t have enough bicarbonate to effectively neutralize the effect of acid or when the kidney are not removing the acid from the body, if the acid accumulate more than the normal range (acidemia) i.e blood pH is to low (Less than 7.35) due to over production of H+ ion by the body or the inability of the body to form bicarbonate (HCO3) in the kidney.
- Respiratory Acidosis: It is a condition which occurs when the lungs are unable to remove the all the carbon-dioxide processes in body. The acid-base balance of body is hampered by this causing the blood to become acidic in nature.
